DISUNITED NATION

Why I dread the coming birthday celebration of Baby Princess! Meeting her Mommy Dearest is the main reason why I'm not really looking forward to this occasion. I just hope that she's in full Xanax moodswing that day, so that I wont be uneasy. Its been six long months since we are all gathered together. My Chinito nephew. My Irish out-law brother Abe, the hypocrite, with Bida, my elder sister. Lapuks and her Iranian boytoy. Buddhamed. Rose. The Queen herself. P_ _ _ N_ _ _ _ _ and beloved wifi. We are all invited to this very much orchestrated gathering with other hundred guests of Ismaili origin. East-Indian friends and kins. The only thing that would make me happy though, is the thought of a small convention of the league of nations. Thanks goodness I now have a valid excuse not to go!

THE SWINE

Mr. Lemon Drops the drainage at Smart Street Corner of Howling Avenue,
while rabid Dogs are barking the wrong tree. Underneath is a sty of a Lady Pig
boiling a water kettle for her Second Cup coffee.

(this is the shortest story I ever adapted from National Film Board image I watched just now)

SUMMER OF DISCONTENT

All over the globe. 1 thing is certain these days. And it's ridiculous. Rising oil prices. High cost of foods. Living. Inflation. Its maddening and absurd.
Not to mention, social upheavals.Unrests.Protests.Demonstrations.Then you'd ask, "Where in the world arewe heading into?"Smog and polution on Beijing
for the upcoming Olympic Games. And its totally uncertain.Downward
spiralling finance. Unstable world-wide e c o n o m y. Weather disturbances.
From tornadoes 2hurricanes.Mugabe.Zimbabwe.It's billions in currency that can only buy a pound of tomato.California earthquake as we speak. And I don't even have to look any furtherBecause here in our own backyard, the recently concluded ten day festival, Capital-Ex, is one example of our
Summer of Discontent
The dins and loud noisesit generated.
Most especially to it's neigbouring communities
plus the Edmonton Rexall Indy, the car race.
It's capital

THE BARNACLE EXPERT

I have nothing to complain, really! But I only wanted to teach someone about the absurdities of life.

A fellow blogger from Dubai thought that I'm a nosy and impertinent bastard. And I should be glad just the same, because he took time to write and dedicate a poem about moi. But the molestedtated twin eggaroo had had me all wrong. Instead of calling me as The Globe Watcher, he kept naming me as the global surveyor or observer or much worst as synonymous to a perverted inspector. Whatever does he mean by it, I got no effing clue. I can only think that he is probably suffering from dyslexia since he could not discern the difference of the above italicized words. No wonder my blogpage link to his website is up until now in question and hanging by a thread so to speak. If only he would take some time to read very carefully, I'd be much happier. But he most probably had a reason by doing so and who am I to correct this. After all, I am not a barnacle expert to tell him so.
Charles just where the hell are you?

Frankly speaking, he's so eloquent despite being twice molested! Ain't that right, Mr. Eggs?

So please, I'm begging you, kindly read this budding link.

HE 'S BACK

Last time he said adieu bid farewell, goodbye
Expresssed love's despair, breathed final sigh
Tumultous fans, friends shook heads in disbelief
Heavy-hearted river-god, Lethe, oblivious grief
Amidst the outcry, clamour, unanswered questions
Left a dent hollowed marks on everyone's imagination
Veered, swerved briefly, in uncertain opposite direction
Erstwhile, espousing new verses, ideals, sublime aspirations
Raising awareness, consciousness thru choruses and songs
Singing, shouting this time around 'bout live's sojourn,
Exposing injustices in any creeds, shapes or forms
Strange indeed, legendary, mythic...forever more.

INGRID BETANCOURT

Talk about a true survivor, French-Colombian politician Ingrid Betancourt is a remarkable story. Kidnapped and held hostage by rebel forces in April of 2002 and forced to live in the Colombian jungle for six and a half years is indeed an ordeal. But last week, her rescue along with other hostages became a joyous occassion. Just how did she made it through? Where did she get the strenght or the will to survive?

From an interview with Larry King, she said that the most difficult part of her experience she had endure is knowing how human being can be so horribly cruel with other human being. That one day she was a free presidential candidate and the next day became at the mercy of her captors, commanded and everytime asking for permissions. That her captors were instructed to kill them. And the ordeal was a living hell. But despite of all that, her faith never waned.

As she goes through her experience, and understandably trying to block some of the painful memories in the jungle; she's just so happy right now, back in the arms of her loved ones, who never lose hope for her freedom, libertad.

And most of all, she wanted not to forget but also willing to forgive!

AREA CODE

Dialing a 10 digits number here in Alberta is a pain in the neck. Gone are the days when we simply dial 7 digits and talk. But now, we have 2 add 780 on top of everything. Not 2 mention long distances. This is way too much for me. I'm getting a headache. I have 2 re-program our landline and cell phone so we wont have 2 waste dialing as much as many numbers. Especially now that I think I'm getting alzheimers just trying 2 remember any number and ordinal combinations.

Just this morning, I could not recall my friend's (ContraVida) cell number. As I didn't have it readily available, I dialed a number that is so dear 2 me instead.

For some reason, I had it commited 2 memory but when I realize my mistakes, the person on the other end of the line had already answered. A very distinct Indian voice, that I'd recognize after all these years. It was kinda embarrasing.

I am happy 2 know that he is still in around, though. Trying 2 sold another
lovely house by the suburb. He told me long ago 2 contact him in case I needed his assistance buying real estate. So I told him that I simply dialed his number
by mistake. In case he'd think that I am stalking him.

You see I have a selective memory. When it comes 2 birthdays and age, I'd forget them. My social security number. And anniversaries.

Funny thing is I could still remember an old chequing account that I cancelled 15 years ago, o52o-8023917, Bank of Montreal, Kingsway Branch. So if you guys care 2 donate some extra cash, you know where not 2 send them.

1177 21221 01349 **** 11529 ****6748 **** Hhmmm...just what the hell are these?

CHANGING OF THE GUARD

I never thought I would witness this momentous Wimbledon finals. And after watching Rafael Nadal dethroning five times champion Roger Federer in five set is nerve wracking in itself. It put me on edge. After two rain delays and over four and a half hours, still tied two sets apiece 2-2 in the fifth set and deuce, this is a battle that is very historical, indeed. It could go either way, both players are batlling it with all their might. And its fierce. See-sawing points after points, but Rafa's fourth championship point cannot be denied, made Roger an unforced error to the net. And now we have a changing of the guard. This would now go down as a classic in the history of tennis game in an open era. Just mere points separates these two champions and the younger one prevailed. RAFA 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7. Unbelievable!

INSIDE EDGE

What did you say? I didn't catch that! Would you repeat please! Naw, never mind. It's just darn too crazy. Nothing special. I can't even comprehend it. That dang animal. I'm not even a loyal fan. But imagine there are three of the greatest riders in town. In their parlance this is a monster. Amidst the huge gathering crowds...this is a run I shouldn't miss. For I know it's a rare opportunity. I will be able to correspond with the legends. Talking about shaping history. Maybe after the dinner at the Key, where its confirmed it would be held. Arguably the most exciting treat for this summer feast. Thanks in a million for being there with me. And I am so sorry.
Would you forgive me? I'll rest for a minute and try to dream the dream while its still free. Now tell me again...or just nod... let's see if you got me!

PACMAN BATTERED DIAZ

This highly anticipated lightweight match-up between Manny Pacquiao and David Diaz is actually awful to watch. It's so one-sided and hardly ever a match. I would rather watch UFC anytime, at least I know what to expect despite the blood and the gore.

Sporting his wife's name Jinky tatooed on upper left arm, Ayasiv famous boxer, Pacman, battered Chicagoan, Diaz black and blue at Mandalay Bay. It's so ugly with capital U. Thank God its over after the ninth round when Manny's left jab connected to Diaz's right cheek that finally laid him to the canvass, TKO!

Pacman is just too quick for poor poor Diez, who seemed to have no answer counter-punch wise. This is total domination or submission...given your point of view! I'm just glad I didn't paid for this view. I want to vomit!
